Photo Projects for Beginners : spark your photographic creativity with guided and thoughtful assignments in a relaxed and enjoyable community.

This online class is designed for photographers looking to grow their skills in a fun and thought-provoking way. Composed of 6 weekly online classes, each providing unique assignments to help expand students’ understanding of photography. Easy and fun assignments will keep students engaged and improve their visual creativity as developing photographers.

Weekly online classes will be broken into three segments. First, the group will recap and review photos from the previous week’s assignment. Here, students will be encouraged to discuss each other's photos and provide helpful feedback. The conversation will always be light and fun!

Topics Covered:

  • How to approach photo assignments.

  • Get more comfortable and confident with their cameras.

  • Practice creativity and expand visual vocabulary.

  • Get helpful feedback on improving their photos.

  • Discover creative, new, and fun ways to utilize photography.

What you’ll need:

  • A camera with manual mode functions (Digital SLR, Mirrorless, or advanced camera).

  • A phone with a camera app.

  • Laptop or desktop computer with stable internet connection.

  • A tripod learn more (Recommended).

Timeline:

  • 6 Sessions: every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 pm.

  • On-going feedback available thru online platforms.

  • Assignments and class recordings available even when students cannot attend.

+ Is this a critique class?

  • Yeah, kinda.. But not the scary or pretentious kind. BPW instructors will lead a fun and light conversation about student-made work with constructive criticism being provided to help encourage and stimulate creative thinking.

+ What if I need to miss a class?

  • No problem. Each class will be recorded and can be downloaded at any time during the course.

+ I'm new to photography, what if I need help or get stuck between classes?

  • We’ve got you covered. The group will have access to a private forum where they can ask for guidance, post photos for feedback, or just share ideas.

+ What if I'm unable to make photos one week, can I still attend class?

  • Of course! We encourage students to join each class to see other students' work, share thoughts and give helpful feedback!
